
Meet the Team
Nicole is our project manager and works directly with the technical writing team. She is majoring in mechanical engineering with a concentration in design. Her experience has come from working with Henke Manufacturing as a summer intern. She worked on snowplow designs as well as technical writing for the product manuals. She is currently the teaching assistant and will continue her education after graduation as she works towards a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, focusing in Robotics.
Nicole Tennant
Evan McCoy
Evan is a member of our design team and has some prior experience with bio-inspired designing. He is a mechanical engineering major and is concentrating in design. Additionally, he is working towards a masters in management. He has experience with modelling, from working as a design intern for Canon CVI. Evan is a huge intramural sports guy and enjoys hunting, fishing, and motocross.
Spencer is a member of our design team. He is majoring in mechanical engineering with a concentration in design. He is also working towards a minor in biomedical engineering. Spencer has programmed and constructed a 3D printed robotic quadruped in a previous course. He loves the water and enjoys fishing, kayaking, and going to the beach.
Spencer Mitchell
Reese is a member of our customization team. He is a mechanical engineering major and is very experienced with MATLAB and excel. He worked as a production engineering intern at Washington Gas where he designed systems and conducted research. Reese is a part of the Hampton Roads Student Fellowship and likes woodworking and playing rugby.
Reese Holland
Jacob Gardner
Jacob is a member of our customization team. He is majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in civil engineering. Some of his engineering experience comes from his internship with Flowserve. Jacob is a drummer in a band and enjoys fishing and surfing in his free time.
Kerri Caruso
Kerri is a member of our technical writing and research team. She is studying mechanical engineering with a minor in biomedical engineering. She spent the summer of 2018 interning for the Institute of Musculoskeletal Science and Education, where she helped design spine implants and surgical instruments. Kerri is a member of the ODU Women’s Lacrosse team and enjoys skiing in her free time.
Morgan is a member of our technical writing and research team. He is studying mechanical engineering with a concentration in power systems. He has interned under two companies, Kinder Morgan and Bechtel Corporation, to gain knowledge of the engineering work force. Morgan is a pitcher on the ODU baseball team and loves to be outdoors no matter what time of the year.

Brett Smith
Brett is a member of our technical writing and research team. He is a mechanical engineering major and worked as an intern with Chugach Alaska Corporation in their CAD department. Brett is a pitcher on the ODU Baseball team and spends a lot of his time out on the water surfing and wakeboarding.
Zach Carder
Zach is a member of our materials team. He is studying mechanical engineering with a concentration in design. Hauling all the way from Colorado, Zach enjoys swimming and going to the beach. Zach is involved with the Navy ROTC program at ODU.
Braydon is a member of the materials team. He is majoring in Mechanical Engineering while concentrating in design. Braydon is originally from Ohio and is a member of the Rugby club here at ODU.
Braydon Googeg
Dr. Kaipa is one of our advisers that offered insight and guidance throughout this entire project. He is an assistant professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at ODU.
Krishnanand Kaipa
Dr. Kravchenko is another one of our advisers that mainly contributed as the aid to our materials team. He is an assistant professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at ODU.
